Our plans to build a better future by allying with the Assassins failed. As it would happen, those within the Brotherhood and Templar Order mostly backed the cause, and I have no doubt that within time the two orders could have united under one banner. It was not to be so. The tradition of endless war was, in the end, too much to overcome, even for us. A man within our Order used the powers of the Apple of Eden to destroy any chance that we had of a lasting peace, and used it so that my Order turned its back on me.
